HOW TO MAKE A BEDTIME ROUTINE

We could all use some help in this department at times right? When it comes to establishing a good sleep regimen, it’s best to come up with habits and a routine every night to get your body ready and in expectation. Our bodies love to develop autonomic patterns of balance. Our bodies even establish a pattern of balance and adjustment even when it comes to bad habits. Let’s face it, we’re creatures of habit. So, let’s develop good habits that are conducive to a good night’s rest right? Our bodies rejuvenate, heal, and repair during sleep so it’s VITAL to make sure we get enough of interrupted sleep during the night.

FIRST TIP
Set up a small storage system, dish, box, and/or shelf to place on your nightstand to hold all your oily goods. The biggest thing, you have to keep it all in plain sight. If you don’t see it to remind you, you won't use it.

SECOND TIP
Come up with a 2-3 step routine before bed each night. Mold it to fit what brings you comfort. For example, we all gotta wash our face, right? Nothing feels better than a clean face before bed. Using your favorite YL face wash/skin care products could be your step one. Some of our favorites are Art Gentle Cleanser and Orange Blossom face wash. After a clean face, go to your nightstand where you have now placed all your oily goods, and grab your next items in your bedtime routine! Following a great face cleansing is one of our favorites, the CBD Beauty Boost! This product smells so comforting, makes your face feel as smooth as butter, all while providing soothing and relaxing benefits from the properties of CBD!

After the glorious face pampering, nothing settles for bedtime quite like these next faves.

FAVE BEDTIME PRODUCTS TO TRY
Rutavala Roll-On
Lavender EO
Sleepessence
Any of the oils from YL Freedom Sleep Kit!

BEST WAYS TO USE THESE OILS
Apply to temples around head, back of the neck, under big toe, and/or add a drop to your pillow before bedtime. Also, diffusing any of these to set the environment to calm and relax is a MUST! There’s one thing about our olfactory nervous system is that when a smell is recognized, the brain is triggered to memories of what you attached the smell to! So establishing a bedtime routine around the diffused smells will help our brain signal our bodies that it’s time for bed!

FOR THE KIDS
Diffusing any of the oils listed above will also be great for the littles, but YL also has another great blend for them! Sleepyize! This roll-on can be rolled on the back of the neck at the base of the head and on the bottom of the big toe (Or really anywhere! These spots are just the reflex points at the end of the nerves that signal certain parts of the brain to help assist the body with this particular task).
